Control safety

Interlocks and trips stay in the BMS controller, never in the cloud. The platform issues setpoint and enable commands only — if the link drops, local control continues on its last valid setpoint.

Every write is an RPC with a device-side acknowledgement. An unacknowledged command raises an alarm rather than failing silently.

Control safety

Machine safety functions are never exposed. Commands are limited to enables, setpoints and sequencing — emergency stops, guards and pressure relief remain hardwired.

Writes go to the PLC through the gateway, and the PLC validates every value against its own limits before acting. The cloud can request; only the PLC decides.

Control safety

UPS transfer and generator start are excluded from remote control by design — these are single points of failure for the whole facility and belong to the on-site EPMS with local confirmation.

Setpoint writes are rate-limited to one change per node per minute so an operator cannot oscillate the cooling plant from a phone.

Capacity headroom by constraint

The binding constraint is cooling, not space or power. Selling more rack space without adding cooling would strand it.

Control safety

Curtailment commands from the grid operator take priority over anything set here — the plant controller enforces that hierarchy locally, not the dashboard.

Turbine yaw, pitch and brake are not exposed. Remote control is limited to derate, enable and reset; anything touching mechanical safety stays with the turbine controller.
